Arkil Fundering has worked with all kinds of foundation, post-foundation and marine work projects for more than 35 years, primarily in Denmark and Northern Germany. Apart from the straight-forward foundation projects, we take on projects such as reinforcement of building site excavations and trenches, sheet piling and cleaning up pollution with large-scale drilling. We also offer execution of all kinds of marine works such as harbour constructions, piers and breakwaters.
We have all the necessary special machinery and equipment as well as nbsp;a highly qualified staff which will ensure that the foundation project will be completed in the most appropriate and professional way possible.
Pile foundation
Arkil Fundering can do pile foundations with both drilled and driven piles.
We drive all forms of piles, including reinforced concrete piles, steel piles and mini piles. Arkil is the leading supplier of mini piles in Denmark.
With regard to drilled piles, Arkil Fundering has full-range capacity from traditional, drilled foundations with borehole tubes to Perma piles and Perma displacement piles or full displacement piles.
Sheet piles, trenches and excavations
Arkil Fundering offers a number of solutions with sheet piles and secant pile walls, including:
- Steel sheet piling which is used in connection with basement and cellar excavations, on slopes, as temporary supporting walls for building site trenches and excavations and as part of permanent quay constructions.
- Rammed sheet piles are typically used for smaller installations. This is the most economical installation method.
- A vibration technique with high-frequency vibrations without resonance is used where the sheet piles are to be installed close to existing buildings.
- Hydrostatic pressure, where the sheet piles are installed by means of a pressure, is used close to older buildings or buildings with weak foundations where the vibration technique cannot be applied.
- Secant pile walls consist of piles which are drilled with a slight overlap to form a continuous wall.
- Building site trenches and excavations – in cooperation with Arkil Construction, Arkil Fundering executes finished trenches and excavations with the necessary lowering of water tables.
Post-foundation
With regard to damage caused by subsidence in existing buildings or conversions, which exposes the foundation to increased stress, Arkil Fundering offers a number of different solutions including Meda and Preca piles, casting and ramming of mini piles.
Marine Works
Arkil Fundering holds expertise and equipment to perform all kinds of Marine Works, including construction of new sites and areas, as well as renovation and maintenance of existing marine constructions. We work from both sea and shore with foundations and piling, concrete-, wood-, steel- and stoneworks, reclamation and other earth moving projects. Whenever relevant, these jobs are performed in close cooperation with the Arkil Group’s considerable capacity within the Construction Division, which has a annual revenue in excess of 160 million Euro.
