E10 - From Nehrus Allé to Brendstrupgårdsvej

In 2015, on the north side of the city of Aarhus, Arkil constructed two lanes on each side of the existing road to prepare the way for the light rail train that will run in the middle of the 1.5 km stretch of road. The future light rail line was laid out, and the road, bicycle path and footpath were expanded. As a supplement to the contract, Arkil also removed the old district heating and water mains.

This particular stretch of motorway is heavily trafficked, and because the flow of traffic needed to be maintained for the duration of the construction period, the project also involved strict requirements for coordination between the client, consultant, authorities and Arkil.

E3.1 - From Aarhus H to Mindet

Between summer 2014 and March 2015, Arkil Rail established a new track bed and laid 700 m of track between Aarhus Central Station and Mindet. The preparatory work was carried out to ensure the stability of the track's future operation.

In addition to establishing the track bed and laying tracks, the project entailed draining the area, laying cables, replacing worn tracks, sheet piling installation, retaining walls, embankment expansion and the replacement of soft ground.

E13 - From Randers to Lystrup Station

In 2013–14, Arkil Rail and Arkil Construction completed a new track layout for the coming light rail system. The work consisted of topsoil removal and earthworks for the track bed. Additionally, a drainage system was implemented along the entire section.

As part of the project, Arkil Bridge & Concrete was responsible for casting a 60 m landscape bridge and wildlife crossing near Lisbjerg Stream. Bueris Stream and Elle Stream were guided under the tracks in element tunnels. Finally, a track bed made from stable gravel and coarse aggregate ballast was laid in the section by Arkil Rail.
