In 2012, the historic and scenic Ribe Cathedral Square was resurfaced, and Arkil was the company that was awarded the general contract for the job.
Municipality of Esbjerg
29 mill. Danish kroner
The renovation of Ribe Cathedral Square came about as a partnership between Esbjerg Municipality and the Realdania endowment fund. The project was ambitious in scope, as the intention was to bring the square into harmony with its surroundings while respecting its spirit and unique cultural and historical legacy. There were a number of requirements regarding the type of surface to be used, as it would ultimately form the valuable framework around Denmark's oldest cathedral.
The renovation project included a range of services, including the delivery and laying of granite, chip stone surfacing, earthwork and drainage installation, as well as electrical installation and the planting of trees. The project also included sewer separation and renovation work.
The work was performed by Arkil's Esbjerg division, Stürup Construction.
