A large-scale construction project in Svenstrup, a town located south of the Danish city of Aalborg, is about to take shape. The project has sprung from Banedanmark's work to improve Denmark's railway network.
As part of the project, Arkil is building a new bridge and replacement road in order to avoid the railway crossing currently found in the middle of town.
As part of the project, Arkil's foundation division installed the sheet piling and did the ground anchor work in connection with the replacement road. The sheet piling included the vibration compaction of 170 linear metres, the installation of a traction level and the implementation of 14 ground anchors.
The replacement road will be built over the railway in operation and the Svenstrup Railway, and it will connect to Hobrovej (a local road) at a new intersection. The new bridge will replace the existing railway crossing at Dall Møllevej (another local road) in Svenstrup, while the new road will connect to Dall Møllevej in the east and Hobrovej to the west.
The present railway crossing in the centre of town will be taken down once the new bridge and road project is complete.
