With its daily traffic flow of 10,000 vehicles, the new Little Belt Bridge requires regular maintenance and cleaning. The Danish Road Directorate has therefore contracted Arkil to monitor and perform repair work on the bridge. In addition to this, there are a number of operational tasks for which we are also responsible.
The new Little Belt Bridge is a six-lane motorway bridge connecting Jutland and the island of Funen, built between 1965 and 1970 and inaugurated on 21 October that year.
The bridge is 1,700 m long, 33.3 m wide and has a free span of about 600 m. Its navigational clearance height is 44 m.
